We know that stress and anxiety affects our whole being. As an educator I have always been interested in strategies and approaches to help my students with improving their mental health but very often neglected my own. Until recently, when I sat down - or more accurately stood up - and thought deeply about the power of the outdoors. It was clear to me that while the simple action of having 'time out' is enormously powerful - combine this with the great outdoors and you have a potential recipe for success. Which is how Connected-Consultancy Wellbeing Walks (also known as Walking Heads) came into being. For anyone looking to take time out from their busy lives to refresh and recharge their wellbeing.
Research shows that walking and talking can significantly enhance well-being by combining physical activity with social interaction. Walking promotes cardiovascular health, boosts mood, and increases energy levels, while talking provides emotional support, reduces stress, and strengthens social bonds. Together, they create a powerful synergy that improves mental clarity, fosters a sense of connection, and contributes to overall physical and emotional health. This simple activity can lead to a healthier, happier, and more balanced life.

At ConnectED Consultancy, I plan and provide bespoke wellbeing walks in the beautiful countryside in and around the UNESCO city of Bath, UK. These can be for as little as one hour or up to a full day - with opportunities for refreshment stops along the way. The focus of the walk will be agreed beforehand however I aim to support my clients with a refreshing opportunity to unwind and declutter the mind. I employ a natural and conversational approach using Dr Phil Hammond's 'fundamentals of feeling good' as a focus during the session. While obviously spending time enjoying the great outdoors.
